Question:
Back in December of last year i recommened a friend buy a modded Pioneer 444 from upgrade heaven.
Until now he has only watched region 2 DvD's - however i recently lent him my region 1 of Shallow Hal.
Only problem is his player wont play it - region error.
Question is how does he change the region - hes lost the instructions that came with the player - doh.
Thanks.
Spike
Um, I'm sure the 444 needs a hardware mod to make it regionless. If so, you'll need to get it chipped.
where did he get it from?? they may have online instructions/email address to get a new set sent out
He got it from Upgrade Heaven according to the initial post.
Maybe he just ordered the wrong one by accident.

sorry wasn't reading properly
You're better off emailing Justin rather than waiting for him to happen across this thread.

Needs to set the machine, sounds like hes never initally set the regions on it:
go to setup menu, select right hand most tab "general"
Select navigator mod, then "basic" then press enter
press "display" current region shown
press "condition memory" then press "1"
display for region disapears, then press setup to save.
machine now in Region 1 RCE mode, with all region auto backup for r2/3,etc discs.
Cheers
