Question:
I have jsut bought a amp and I need to connect my DVD player to my amp. I have been told that co-axial is better for this, and I was wondering if I could get some other opinions?
Does anyone know where I can get a good cheap lead from?
this has been done to death a fair few times, and you'll never get a definitive answer anywhere. But using the search, heres a previous thread (http://Here.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85622&highlight=optical) or here (http://Here.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78092&highlight=optical) and here (http://Here.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53430&highlight=optical) as for leads, you can make your own coax or use a phono - phono cable. Opticals start at around a tenner from somewhere like Beyond Hifi (http://www.beyondhifi.net/shopping/Products.asp?CatID=284)

Me ! £6 inc. for a single-screened, OFC copper, 1M length w/ gold-plated connectors. Two available.

not sure about quality but my ixos optical died so I replaced it with a coax...coax seems a bit more durable and slightly less fiddly than optical
