E-Pilot learning remote question?
Question:

Got mine yesterday (thankyou Bargain Forum! :) )
and have been playing with it. Seems to do what I need.
One question.
The volume up/down buttons learn my volume up/down from various remotes AOK but they don't seem to have persistance.
i.e. If I press volume up, it goes up one click but if I hold the button it won't continue to raise the volume. I have to keep clicking it up one notch at a time.
Is there a way to make the volume up/down persist in the same manner as regular remotes? i.e hold down to raise/lower volume. Let go to stop at desired level.

Sometimes theres different ways you can 'teach it'. Try learning by giving the original a short press so tha epilot just registers it, if that doesn't work try keeping the button pressed down until the epilot confirms learning. That worked for me on various learning remotes.

on the earlier version, which I had it was purely a one click option, there was no way of sustaining the volume up or down

I've managed to sustain the volume on the Sky box and my Hi-Fi amp but I can't get it to sustain it with the DigiTheatre...probably something to do with the crap remote with the DigiTheatre.
I have the same problem trying to cycle through my AV channels on the TV, it will only go up one and then that's it until the TV is turned on and off again.
All minor points though as it's a great piece of kit. One key depression now to turn on the power to all my equipment !!:)

As kcxdev said - try holding the button down longer or shorter when learning...that usually does the trick

It's worked for all mine, Sky box, TV, Digitheatre, when learning just keep the volume button held down instead of quickly pressing it once, like they've said.
Shouldn't have any problems, providing the original remote does it properly.

Sorted! Holding the buttons on the remote being learned is the key.
Got it all set up to my satisfaction last night. Great bit of kit (esp. at £39.99 ) Tonight, it's "fun with macros". :)

Still can't get mine to cycle through my AV channels or W/S settings...could it be the batteries in the TV remote ?...

The "hold the button" trick works for the Digitheatre DTS volume. It also seems to be the preferred way of programming any button with the E-pilot.

gary191265 - your problem could be down to the way your original remote works.
It probably uses a toggle code to switch between the channel/ ws.
If you press the a/v button then a different button and then the a/v button does it cycle through? If so the toggle issue will be true. I got round it by just craeting a small macro so everytime i use a/v or w/s it sends the signal for a different button as well as the original button.

Cheers for that, I'll give it a go when I get home.
