Looking for a decent centre speaker around the ton mark.
Seen the Tannoy and Mission 77C1.
Opinions and options please :D
Hi Phil,
I've got a 77c1 and an Eltax Symphony centre. The Mission is much better built and IMHO sounds "tighter" with a bit more treble that seems to put a greater emphasis on speech! I like it that way, others may not. I haven't had the luxury of trying much else, but for a ton there's perhaps not that many around that you need worry about. I'd like to try a Tannoy though.

BTW I kept the Yammy and it sounds very good. It's a good all-rounder as I have been playing all sorts through it :)
I am pushed towards the 77c1 to be honest and may make a trip to Richers at the weekend to purxhase one.
Although it will depend on what main speakers your running, you won't get better than the 77c1 for that kind of money. I have one and it really is the dogs. Certainly the best speaker in my setup, (Mission 701 mains, MS-B20 rears. Indeed, I'm going to have to upgrade my main speakers sometime soon i think).
Can't say I've heard the Tannoy, but they have had good things said about them.
Best bet is to get one, try it for a few days and see what you think. They will always take it back if you shout enough :)
