Matching Tannoy MXC with M3 and M1
Question:

Does anybody know how different the mX series sound from their predecessors the M series?
Should I look arround for the MC even if I see the MXC on offer? I know the MX series are supposed to be better then the M series but I'm worries that the change of cone material will make them a poor match.
Any suggestions or experience greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Phill

I've only ever heard the exact opposite. Audioreview comments back me up too, AFAICR.
If you don't need shielding try and get another M1.

Thanks for the advice, I do need shielding so I think I''ll hunt for the mc.

I recently found an MC to go with my M2.5 fronts at the Sony shop in Woking; it cost me £90. They had a few; you may be lucky and find one still.

IIRC, mc's were more usually around the £49.95 mark weren't they ? In their latter days, that is.

Phill - I moved upto the Mission FS2s recently so I've actually got an MC gathering dust if you're interested.
did me sterling service...still in perfect nick... just a bit dusty.
Flibber they were originally £80-100 though... probably nearer £50-60 when discounted.
