Ondigital - channel guides
Question:

Hi, I've got a Philips ondigital box which has worked fine for the last couple of years.
Has anyone noticed that the channel guides are no longer working properly. I find you can only get info on the channel you ar watching. If you page through to other channels you get old times/odd times/odd programmes - garbage basically
Are the beeb testing new systems? Is my box likely to work properly after October 2002?
many thanks in advance

I've got the same problem on my Nokia Media Master.... not that it helps your situation but it's nice to know other people are in the same boat.

I think this is linked to the issue where time displays on the Pioneers is wrong. Basically the BBC is having to cobble a system together to keep things going while the new setup is installed and commisioned. Things should right themselves at the launch of the new service. The question I am asking myself is will the new system work with older set tops. Specifically, will there be new facilities old set tops are not programmed for, and is there anything that will not work with the new system.

I'm getting the same problem on my Pace, basically if you are on a BBC channel, you can get information from the Electronic Programme Guide for any other Beeb channel but you have to switch to a non-beeb channel to get information for ITV1 & 2, Ch4 and Ch5 but then the beeb information doesnt show  Hopefully it will get sorted once the new transmissions get underway.
Another problem I've been having is that if the box is powered off either through a powercut or being put in standby, the channels all pixellate really badly and the only way to sort it out seems to be to do 'Store Channels'. :oh-hum:

Same here. Pioneer and Pace 735 both misbehaving on Now & Next info. Guess its down to the transmission.

My Pioneer has similar things, however it's just been kicked out by a brand-spanking Pace SkyDigibox! :)

Ditto to above. But Pioneer ITV box went downstair to my parent's TV.

Actually the bizarre thing is that the channels that closed e.g. Sky Sports etc., that used to just show "07:00", now show the programming for the last programs they ever had on back in May... can't imagine why that information is now being retransmitted???????

The news is not good. Looks like the Now & Next facility is dead on the old ondigital boxes. No wonder comet were selling these off cheaply.

Not that dead, ZX81 - it says pretty clearly in that article that it is a temporary situation for a couple of months. :)
