Question:
Got the Samsung 709 3 years ago but been playing up. Discs so hot that you can hardly touch them when they came out. Luckily got the extra 2 years cover. They have wrote it off. I have £250 to spend at Comet on a new dvd. I will have to upgrade to all region. I have a seperate amp so a decoder is not needed.
So which do I choose.

Hi
Are you getting replacement voucher's from your Insurance co. If so you are able to use them on Comet Internet by selecting offline payment. This may or may not give you better pricing options depending on what player you want (look out for the red triangle as they are specific internet prices).
What a lot of people do not realise is that you get Kingfisher voucher's if they are direct from Comet. You are also able to use them at MVC & Woolies which might also be worth bearing in mind.
I am heading towards a Sony.

Region2 only then! (Its COMET were talking about here)

I did say I would have to upgrade to all region. So £50 for a new player is not bad.
We've got a couple of hundred 700's which I would have advised from our meagre selection. You don't say if your getting Kingfisher Vouchers? If so try and trade the extra off for cash with family or mates then bingo get in touch with that man at dvd chips.

Where did you buy your 709 as I know we had the lion's share of that money maker. have one myself as backup to my Pioneer 747.
So we don't do Modded machines. Plenty of choice out there do you think I bought my 747 at work naaaaaaaaaa. Thanks to Justin for that one.
:)
I do not know what I am getting yet as all they have said is they have wrote it off. A letter is due to arrive this week as confirmation.
