Question:
Guys a little help if you would.
Can anyone tell me which if these budget amps/recievers is best? If anyone has any of them I would like to know what they sound like with dts etc as Richer Sounds have these amps right now for fairly good prices and I am thinking of upgrading in a month or so once I have some cash.
I have an old Yamaha amp right now but after hearing some Denon stuff at the start of the year (much prefered the sound quality) I am swaying more towards the 1802. Would I be better off holding out till I can afford a 2802 or 3802 or are they all pretty much the same just with more inputs the higher up the range you go?
As for the Yamaha stuff, not sure about these at all so any memebers experiences with them would be great.
Edit: Just read the Marantz 5200 is a damn fine amp as well. Any thoughts on that?
One thing I have noticed, Richer Sounds have sold out of the Denon & Marantz in gold (my prefered colour). Wonder if these things are gonna be a bugger to get hold of?!

The 620 is excellent sounding, I have always had Yammy cinema amps so can't really compare with the Denon.
RS will set them both up for you so you can compare.

I've had the Yammy 620 more or less from it's birth and speaking solely as an AV amp it is MIGHTY impressive and actually it's not to shabby with the ol' audio CD's, for what RS are selling them you will certainly get more than your moneys worth, i'd heartily recommend one. ;)

Just got the Denon today! Other half lent me the cash (will pay her back, honest ;) ). Have had a nightmare though as my sub (Rel Storm) has an XLR connection but not an RCA at other end which the Denon needs. Spent the day calling EVERYWHERE and not one place near me has one. I have purchased 2 seperate leads with various adaptors but they didnt work eother! So now I am digital but subless, which is not good!!!!
Have to try and get to Musical Images in Edgeware next week sometime to get the lead as they are THE only people that stock the damn thing!! :(
