Question:
Just like auto-switching scart boxes is there such a beast for three phono component video? My telly has component in but when I get a component video lead for my Gamecube i'm going to need a switcher as the component connection is currently being used by DVD.
You can get y-splitter leads to go from 1 phono to 2, that would probably work and failing that, a lot of mid range AV Amps will do component switching.
Thanks Lovegroova.
A New Amp is definitely on the TODO list. My Digitheatre DTS is fine for movies but it doesn't do DPLII which would be nice for the Gamecube. I'd also like to get into EX/ES at some point.
I don't like the idea of Y-splitters as they tend to be noisy signal degrading things. Also the idea of output from one source going down the other side of the Y into the other devices outputs offends my sense of the rightness of connections for want of a better phrase. :)
A newer amp is the best way, the Pioneer 811s does do component switching (at least the US release does) and also is a nice DTS-ES/DD-EX 6.1 amp with PLII :)
I would say that if an amp is on the cards then go that way instead of buying a switcher which to get a good one will probably cost a fair bit anyway.
