Question:
:oh-hum: My Optim has bitten the dust, :(
I have been told the new Pacific 1002's from our good friends from Asda does the business.
Wot I mean is that it plays Vcd's, Svcd's, Mp3's etc..
I was wondering if anyone had purchased one and could give me any feedback....
Many thanks
Mick
go with the apex 1100 for 70 pounds at asda
it is the dogs Bolloxs
if you are after a cheap player try the following
Acoustic Solutions DVD421/451
i have the 451 in the kids room,it plays everything i have thrown at it
cdr, cdrw, vcds, svcd, mpes, dvdr, multiregion & macrofree with the hack the shop gave me
pioneer 340 at 109 pounds and is multrgion, it has twin lazer pick ,the only thing it does not plat is mp3s
Toshiba SD110 is at a bargian 100 pounds multiregion
have a look at their site www.richersounds or ring the shop, or just pop in with a few dvdrs, and test them in the shop (their give you no probs with testing in the shop)
and if you thinking of buy the pioneers 340 or the Toshiba sd110 do a print out and take it to the shop and their will price match it,if it cost more in the shop
Tafsir;)
If you find a Pioneer 340 or Toshiba 110 in a Richer sounds shop count yourself very very lucky.
They have hardly any stock of these promotions (and they sell out really fast). They are just to get you instore so they can sell the regular stuff.
If you are pondering on the Acoustic solutions , i would not wait too long. These are a bargain and won't last long either.
The Apex at Asda is not multiregion and aparently has VCD playback disabled (according to owner's postings) :(
Look here ON PAGE 8 (http://www.nerd-out.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19391)
The Pacifics now have VCD disabled as well . Most stores have put up a notice saying so to stop the high number of returnS
Thanks for that you guys.
Simes: from wot I hear the new pacific 1002 DOES inded support Vcd , Svcd playback but not sure on Dvd-R playback, but with a no quibble 3 year guarantee you can't argue with that, anymore suggestions before I give Asad me money ???????
