Question:
I was wondering about the relative lengths of rear speaker cable.
My living room is such that the tv is located in a corner, with the sofa on the opposite wall - and rear speakers would go either side of the sofa (kind of).
I quickly measured the room, and the lengths of cable required would be about 10 metres to one speaker, and 5 metres to the other.
I was wondering what impact this would have on the setup - how close in length does the speaker calbe need to be? - should I just have a longer than necessary cable to the nearest speaker and lay it back on itself?
When I was setting up my kit, my dealer told me that equal lengths is mandatory for the fronts/centre, but not so important for the rears.
It will almost certainly make no difference.Unless you were using strange exotic cable with incredibly high resistence or capacitance and even then a 5 metre difference wouldn`t matter..Save your money and get what you need.
