DTS Amp recomendations?
Question:

Can people recomend me a good 5.1 Amp that can handle DTS?
Ideally it will have 2 or more optical digital inputs (for my DVD player and PS2 - I'm sick of having to switch).
I've got a Kenwood 7030 at the mo but would love to experience DTS for the first time.
I have a celestion speaker package and a 100W KEF Sub.
I've been eyeing up the Pioneer D511 or the D711S. Any thoughts?
Looking to spend no more than £250.00
Thanks. :)

Why not get the new Kenwood KRF-X9060D if you can afford.
It has THX Select, THX Surround EX, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic 2 DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS, DTS Matrix 6.1,DTS Neo-6, Circle Surround II
I'm tempted to buy this because it is THX select certified.
It's future proof for couple of years
You can get the 9060DS (Silver version) for £325(ex Deliver) from unbeatable.co.uk.
What HI-FI? magazine rates it highly.

Why not try the Denon 1801 at richers for £250 i got it about a year ago and its a stunning amp! In my eyes it beats the Yamaha in all aspects apart from the front inuts on the which it lacks althought i think the 1802 has the front inputs!. If richers dont have it in stock you can get it from here: www.sdb-electronics.com like i did although it is a grey import i think, but your saving about £150!!! You decide if you want to pay over the british prices!

Not always true, most delaers offer "british" stuff cheap these days, and in the terms of yamaha, Denon, Marantz, etc buying import usually means different spec, at the very least with the pucka models you get at least a 2 year manufacturers warranty regardless of if the dealers about in 6 months time;)

is the denon thx then ?

I dont think my spec is any different to the UK model and all that sound tuned for the UK crap is exactly that; CRAP. What do they do twiddle sound adjustment knobs on the inside for the UK? More like just say that so we pay the prices!
Also im sure they have to offer a warranty on the unit no matter what! I cant see them being able to turn round and say "no sorry we cant service that" especially after a call to traning standards!

there is a upgrade to the ax620 out now/soon...not sure of the differences but i think prologic2 is one of them
check yamaha's site.
