2 Scarts and passthrough - anyone explain ?
Question:

i have a tosh stereo tv with 2 scarts - think only 1 is rgb enabled
as 1 gives a diff picture than the other
a video + ntl analogue box + lg3200 dvd with one scart
dvd straight to tv
video straight to tv - think the ntl is plugged into the video
q) if i get sky dig in the future + get a pioneer 454 which only has 1 scart - how can i connect all this - is 2 scarts on a dvd really essential ?
not well up on this scart / pass through technology as you can see !
i'm thinking - pioneer straight to tv
sky into video , video to tv
there will be no ps2 etc to confuse the matter
thanks
p.s. if its a problem , is there some sort of adaptor i can get to fix this ?

Answers:

DVD -> TV
Video -> Sky -> TV
Up to you whether you use RGB with Sky or the DVD. I used to use RGB for DVD, now I run both Sky and the DVD into a TiVo which means I can use RGB for both.

Answers:

thanks
so i think this means i can get away with a 1 scart pioneer 454
rather than a £100 extra for their next model with 2 scarts

Answers:

Most (if not all?) sky digiboxes have an rgb scart passthrough - I've got my dvd player going into the digibox (Grundig) and then the digibox hooked up to the rgb scart on the tv. This gives an rgb signal with both.
