Question:
Received a Toshiba 28inch Widescreen from ipoints on Monday and I'm now trying to set up my equipment with it. This is nothing complicated, Sky, VCR and DVD player, but there is something wrong somwhere along the line.
The DVD player is connected via EXT1 and plays fine. Sky and the VCR are linked together and connected to the TV via EXT2. When watching Sky/ VCR I get bad ghosting on the picture, the picture from one of the terrestrial channels is being shown at the same time as the Sky/ VCR picture.
I have narrowed it down to a problem with the EXT2 scart connection, as when I tried the DVD on EXT2, the same thing was happening.
Does this mean a faulty EXT2 connection or can I simply adjust something?
Any help is appreciated as this is starting to do my head in!
I have the same problem.
Have you tried watching one box at a time by switching the others off,as it sounds as if one is interfering with the other.
Also tune to a non tuned terrestrial channel when watching via scarts,so as the TV is tuned into a dead channel.
The above solution works for me.
Sorry for not replying sooner Wayne, dont think that I got e-mail notification for this thread, so didnt know you'd replied
The DVD player works fine when connected to the TV on its own. Both the VCR and Sky still have the problem though when they are connected on their own. I am going to try it with a different ariel tomorrow as BE Direct reckon this could be the problem.
What I cant understand though is why does it only affect the one scart socket, If a different ariel doesnt sort it out I'll probably get a scart switch and connect everything through EXT1.
