my mate is a lucky so and so
he has a panny ae100
using s video from dvd to the pj no probs
he wants to use the tv tuner on his vcr to run thro the pj
but using the front video imput on the vcr..no picture
and using a seperate scart plug with video in+svhs in
still no pic
my guess would be a switchable scart, video in/out to video
to run from vcr scart to pj
am i right

You are right if I've understood you..I have a Sharp XV-C20E and plug the videos Scart into a Scart connection which has S-video and video in/out. Large 30 foot phono lead and hey maw, lets watch the footy!

Not sure if I read the above correctly, but if he has taken the input from the VCR front AV as your post seems to imply, then he won`t get a signal. did you mean the VCR is connect to the Projector anyway via the rear of the VCR (video out) and he is trying to connect another item to the front AV, if so he needs to select that input opn the VCR.
As for the scart -> video in, etc, I think you have answered your own question:) If the scart is connected with video in connections, then it won`t work - most scart to phono or s-video cables work the other way round, I.E the signal is taken from the S-Video terminal to the scart socket. You need the reverse, which a switchable model would cure, or simply purchase a cable that has the correct direction or a scart with in and out terminals (6 plugs).
