Is LaStone safe in pregnancy?
Question:

Hi I am new here.
I am hoping to get pregnant but wanted to try LaStone therapy but what I need to know is - is it safe in pregnancy?
Many thanks

Hello Thyme, and welcome!
Do you mean you would like to have a Hot Stone Treatment, or want to try the training?
I would not give someone a Hot stone Treatment certainly in the first trimester, and possibly not after that either.
For one, the heat of the stones causes quite a rapid increase in circulation, and I would err on the side of caution with a pregnant lady. Also, I think adapting the postitioning would be quite difficult; laying flat is a no-no, and laying on your side would make it difficult to fully appreciate the treatment.
I am quite new to the Hot Stone treatments, maybe a more experienced Hot Stone practitioner may give you different advise.
I hope you get pregnant soon!

I would like a hot stone treatment but as I am trying to get pregnant I wouldn't want to have a treatment if there was a possibility that I was pregnant and it could be dangerous.
Your answer pretty much backs up my own thoughts - that it's best avoided if pregnant.
I am a qualified reflexologist and know that is safe in pregnancy but even so I would probably avoid giving someone who was pregnant reflexology just in case!
Thanks so much for your good wishes - if I get pregnant it's fine and the same if I don't - what will be will be.
