Question:
I am thinking of going to see a chiropractor but I thought I would ask for your advise first. I have had back pain for about the past year. The muscle either side of my spine feels very tight and when I lightly press my spine it feels bruised. The tightness gets worse when I'm I'm busy at work and stressed. I was wondering whether this is anything to worry about and whether a chiropractor or simply a few massage sessions would help?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Lisa.
I would go and see an osteopath. I have had bad experiences with chiropractors and have heard from a chiro, that there are only about 2 good ones in the country. But maybe I'm a little biased. But I think osteos are fabulous and would help you.
Regards,
Christina
Lisa,
I think the choice is entirely up to you. Why not ring a few clinics to get some leaflets and a feel for how they work? I work at a chiropractic clinic which is part of a group, and some of the clinics incorporate both a chiro and an osteopath. Some people prefer one, some the other, it is a personal thing.
As for their only being a couple of good Chiropractor's in the country.............well, I beg to differ!!! All are highly trained and very good at their jobs - if you don' get on with one, try another, don't write off the whole profession.
(By the way, many offer a free initial consultation or screen, why not ask clinics about that? You get a chance to see whether they can help you AND check them out at the same time!!)
