aroma and smoking

Hello everyone,
Sorry its been a while. i was wondering if anyone could advisew me on where to look for oils that would help with the cravings when giving up smoking or the addiction itself. i have looked in a few books but can't find any info.

Hi Sully,
Clary Sage may help as it can help cravings and the panicky feelings associated with withdrawal.
It is not recommended for use in pregnancy and alcohol should not be consumed after using the oil as it may cause nightmares and hallucinations.
A calming oil such as Frankinsence may also help. Frankincense helps bring about calm and stillness and can help people 'move on' from a situation.
I apologise if you already know this, but both oils must be diluted in a carrier oil before using in massage (I would suggest a maximum of 2 drops per 5ml of oil for a healthy adult, but others may suggest different dilutions). You can also use the oils in a bath (About four to six drops, swish the water around before getting in the bath), or in an oil burner.

i do know about the blending % as i am qualified in aroma but i have had a prob finding info on addiction. Could you suggests any books or web sites that might help.

I am sure I have read somewhere that Black Pepper is particularly good for helping with the cravings. I will have a look thorough my mountain of books when I have a minute and let you know. Otherwise, try some research in Black Pepper and see if anything comes up.
