Question:
Hi everyone. I am hoping that someone can point me towards some resources for dealing with my residual anger. I don't know where it comes from, and months of counselling have proven useless. I just have this angry feeling most of the time - which makes me reactive and highly strung and blunt (oh and I have an endearing [not] habit of swearing to myself). I'm not a complete demon though! I feel like I am dealing with the superficial issues (counselling) and haven't dealt with, or found a way to deal with, this core feeling. I'm sure it's a self-love thing, but knowing that hasn't helped!
Suggestions warmly welcomed... and I promise to not be snappy!!
Hi Ava
I would recommend both NLP and EFT as being very good with anger issues.
Both are super effective at getting the issues back under your control.
There many people here who offer these therapies, so really it's a personal thing for you to make a choice on who you feel more comfortable with.
If you don't know anyone and want an EFT practitioner there are two websites that give you a list:
www.theamt.com
www.emofree.com (free downloadable manual)
Hope you get it sorted Ava.
Hugs
Steve
PS - Or you can work through it here on the boards.
i agree with steve eft and nlp are brilliant at clearing anger, getting to root cause and reframing as well as making positive choices to change your old patterns of behaviour into new relaxed, calm, in control ways of doing things

Dez and Steve - look, thanks so much for your quick responses. I appreciate your advice, and thank you for it.
I will look at both of these in more detail soon (I am currently finishing off an assignment so really shouldn't distract myself til it is completed). I'll set myself a personal target to spend a couple of hours on Wednesday night looking over the EFT manual... I've just written this in my diary so will do it. I'm also going to have a decent trawl through the posts in this forum and see how other EFT-ers and NLP-ers have dealt with their issues. I'll get back to this thread then when I have a better perspective.
Pah! to anger. It really is cr*p to feel like a simmering pot all the time. It's frustrating and confusing and makes you feel like A Bad Person. I wonder if you know what I mean?
Again, thanks. I am pleased that I wasn't encouraged to continue with the counselling as honestly I feel that talk talk talking has done nothing positive for this problem/issue. But that's me, I am too impatient perhaps!

Looking forward to hearing how you get on. Let us know if we can help with your set up statements for the EFT when you start going through the manual.

Hi Ava,
It seems what you are going through is preceeding personal growth. This often happens when people begin to set personal boundaries and limitations. There might be other factors contributing to how you are feeling and these will be justified.
I am experienced in working with 'the whole person' in a variety of ways that is suited to each individual. Personally I do not promote one particular method of application when a wide variety can be accessed to assist you appropriately.
I get the feeling self-empowerment is calling for you - to take control.

...or.... maybe it's a physical thing too, sort of.. what I mean is - your hormones could be unbalanced or your liver/gall bladder meridian (all connected), you could also look into acupuncture or reflexology for this. There are some good websites on the meridians and how each affects us if it's out of balance.
Suggestions warmly welcomed... and I promise to not be snappy!!
