Question:
I was going to buy myself some salt scrub in a big tub which cost about 12 pounds. I was thinking that maybe I could make it myself a lot cheaper. I thought about adding Finders Deep Sea Magik salt from Holland and Barrett, sweet almond oil and adding some essential oils. Has anyone made this in the past and if so have you any advice.
Thanks
i've done exactlty the same thing after recieving an expensive present of it, i used one of those pickling type jars with the metal closey up clamp type things, can't think of the name, and used sweet almond with lavender and juniper for it's detoxifying properties, but the possibilities are endless.
Hi! Just thought you'd like to know. I actually made some very simple salt scrubs as gifts at christmas. I got some small jelly jars 8-12oz (seeing as these apparently don't last long i probably should have gotten bigger jars) i put in half epsome salt, half table salt, pure olive oil, and a few drops of peppermint essential oil. I suppose you could use any variations of these ingredients, but i love the peppermint because it really wakes me up, and the combo i used really seemed to clear up the acne on my SO's back. I started with this when we had a quick hydrotherapy class in massage school, since then most of my family and friends have been using it and they all enjoy it. The fact that you can get virtually all the ingrediants in your local grocery store, plus the fact that you can make as little or as much as you want at a time is very helpful and definitly cheaper i think than going out and buying these pricey specialty salt scrubs that sometimes smell awful! Hope this helps!
Thanks
