Trying to get to sleep
Question:

There is somebody at work that suffers quite badly from not being able to fall asleep.
This has been happening for about 2 years, she has been through alot recently, but she doesn't normally get to sleep until about 2am and is up again for work at around 6am.
Is there anything that can be recommended? No teas as she doesn't drink it.
Thanks

There are many herbal remedies, a lot of which contain ingredients such as hops and valerian which may be of help.
A few sessions of reflexology would definitely help with the insomnia too.

It may well be that she finds it difficult to relax her mind, if you go to the Spiritual Healing section there is a post entitled 4-Way Breathing, which is a breathing sequence that helps with calming and relaxing the mind.
Someone else on this forum was having problems sleeping, tried the exercise and it worked a treat. I thoroughly recommend it.

Hi
The energetic quality of our Blood is very important in our ability to get off to sleep. Amongst other things, stress such as a shock can disrupt the quality of our Blood.
A good way to get back into balance is to suppliment with Floradix Liquid for a week or so. It is a good tonic for our Blood. This wouldn't really be a long term solution, as the cause of the problem needs to be addressed, but it might help her get some rest in the meantime.

You can try to fill your pillow with hop to support the sleep. http://www.lepetitherboriste.net/plantesus/hop.html
Also try Hot bath, before going to sleep, in which one will have poured an infusion concentrated of one of the following plants:
Woodruff, Poppy, Hop, Passion flower, Linden

I can recommend magnetic mattresses as being very helpful - promote much easier going off to sleep, and allow much deeper levels to be achieved; shorter sleep periods required than usual,as sleep better quality. These sorts of mattresses were included in a top London Hospital sleep laboratory summary of alternative means for aiding sleep in a GP magazine some years ago.
