Question:
hi,
i wanted to know if it is professional enough to do reiki, massage, e.t.c in my conservatory as it does get loud when it rains and is bright in there, i know it sounds silly but i want to look and feel professional when i have done my courses and wondered if its fine, as everyone i know seems to have a bedroom to do it in and thats all i have other then a big shed done up inside, in the garden.
i would love to know what you all think and where you all do your treatments.

Hi Dye
When I'm giving treatments at home I use my dining room. I push the dining table in to the bay window and put the couch or chair in the middle of the room. It's a pretty formal looking room (big ceiling rose, coving, huge built in bookcase) but it's light and bright, not too noisy and, of course, not my bedroom. [8D]
I think you have to use whatever you feel is the best place for you. So if that's the conservatory, that's where you do it.
hi,
thank you for answering me, its nice to know others have to use the space they have got too.

Hello Dye,
Now my eldest daughter is at University I have taken over the box room as 'MY' room lol! and have decorated it in a pale lavender with gold chinese script transfers now and again all over it to match the cover on the single chair bed I have in there for when she comes home and takes it back as her bedroom ( she tells all her friends that she doesn't have a room anymore, she has to sleep in Mum's office!).
Before she went to Uni I would go to the clients house but if anyone really wanted to come to me I would use my front room. As has already been said, use whatever feels 'right' for you. The conservatory could be made very comfortabel. Once the client is receiving Reiki they will not be aware of the noisy rain or the brightness of the room!

Hi Dye,
We are fortunate to have a Ground Floor room we can dedicate to our therapies with a cloakroom just next door to it.
I can see no reason why your conservatory should not be perfectly adequate for giving therapies provided (a) it is not overlooked by your neighbours or anyone in your garden, so that the personal privacy of your clients is maintained whilst they are undressing for treatment and dressing afterwards, and (b) it does not get too hot in summer or too cold in winter.
I do know of therapists who do have their treatment areas in garden sheds but these do not have to smell like garden sheds, and have to be warm in Winter and cool in summer, with curtains at the windows for privacy and be scrupulousy clean inside and equiped with electric light and power and have paved access.
Really, you can make anywhere you choose look professional provided it is kept clean, warm or cool as appropriate and private enough for your clients.
I hope this helps,
