could anyone tell me how much i should expect to pay for the rent of a beauty room within a health and beauty business. I have been offered it on a 40% commission basis on all my treatments. They wont touch any profit i make on products. I have sat for ages doing calculations and although i will not have too many over heads it still doesnt seem that profitable. Can anyone help me? [&:]
i'd love to be able to tell you exactly how much it should be, unfortunately, it depends on the area in which you live and where the salon is (main area, etc)
However, 40% does seem a lot - are you buying your own stock? You would have to shift an awful lot of retail to make up for the high percentage. I would approach the person and try to get it down.
Thanks so much for your advice. I know that my message was rather vague. I have done my homework and found out that one can rent a room for approx.£100 a week in the same area. Therefore i would be paying way over that if my turnover for example was £500 a week ( £200 : £300 ) Does that make sense????[&:]
I have considered either maybe asking for 30% or even having a cut off point, say £150 and then a smaller percentage after that. What do you think ?

Gosh, I asked the woman who I do work experience for how much she charges for a room? she charges £35 a day, that works out at like £180 a week, but you have no other overheads to think about like electricity.
Does the £100 per week room rent include all over costs like electricity, water, etc, etc?

in nottingham the going rate seems to be around £7 - £10 per hour which would be ok if you were charging clients around 25-30 per hour.....
