I need some information regarding chinese medicine for people suffereing from breast cancer.I was told it helps them and would like to know what can be done or what medicine can be taken

Dear Maria,
Traditional Chinese Medicine can help in two ways: help with the side effects of the medications given to treta the cancer and help address the underlying imbalance that created the cancer in the first place. You need to find a good TCM herbalist who will be able to do a diagnosis according to TCM principles. Chinese herbs are not to be taken as self-medication... The same symptoms can be due to so many different conditions, that it is easy to get confused and take the wrong thing.

A chinese Professor once told me about his son having serious cancer and the father went to a chinatown herbalist? and gave him some medicine that allowed his son to have an appetite thru the Chemotherapy and that his family would bring his son fresh food everyday(not hospital food) and he was able to beat his cancer.

The herbs should not interfere with the treatment, but it is always best that both sides know. Western doctors have very varied attitudes towards herbs, so don't hold your bretah for "GREAT! Well done!" reaction. Teh herbs hsoudl no tbe given to you, but to the person under chemio... She needs to be assessed (tongue and pulse are vital parts fo the diagnosis) by the herbalist.

Chinese herbs can be great for support through conventional cancer treatments such as chemotherapy. They are very unlikely to interfer with the medication, but a professionally qualified herbalist is essential. Check out the RCHM for some details.
For someone going through chemo, herbs may be the last thing a person wants to take (they are quite some effort, and taste, er, questionable!).
Don't rule out other forms of chinese medicine, such as acupuncture, which I know from experience can be miraculous in its effects. Acupuncture can help just as effectively as herbs with the ordeal the sufferer goes through, as well as addressing the imbalance that led to the development of the cancer in the first place.
Again, it is essential to seek out a professionally qualified acupuncturist, and I would strongly recommend one who uses an "integrated" style, for the treatment of cancer. You might be able to find one here, but please PM me if you need further assistance.

If I remember right the young man was given the herbs in the form of a soup, this would make him hungry because of the chemo he could not hold down food. The idea was he needed to eat to get better.
Maybe you could try some Qi Gong activities, there are many profound examples of people recovering compeltely from their cancer and other serious illness's by practicing Falun Gong, enabling people to purify their bodies very quickly and achieve great health.

Qi Gong, Tai Chi, meditation... could all help. But I would never recomend any of those on their own for serious conditions like cancer. And yes, there have been "miracles" happening, but there is never any guarantee that it will happen to any given person. I don't like giving false hopes to peeple.

I studied Chinese Health Arts and Massage with Chee Soo and he always said if you have cancer you throw the book at it, coventional medicine and complimentary medicine.
He recommends the Chang Ming diet to help to fight diseases including cancer.
I have a pdf page of the diet if you would like it.
An american doctor has produced a book on how he helped his wife to fight breast cancer by not having any dairy products what so ever and using soya as the main ingredient in his fight. He was on Oprah and is big in the USA. I can't help with the name, but if you type in breast+cancer+soya google might come up with something.
