Distilled malt vinegar vs distilled white vinegar
Question:

i'm still in the process of looking for a few ingrediants to make my own cleaning products. plain distilled white vinegar is the main ingrediant for a number of different things, but so far i have had no luck in finding it anywhere. asda, tescos, sainsburys, somerfields, costcutters are just a few of the places i've looked (both in the large stores and their smaller stores). i have found distilled malt vinegar (malt, wine, balsamic & cider which is all i can find), can anyone tell me if i can use that instead? it does smell different, but maybe its the next best thing. or does anyone have a suggestion on where i can get plain white vinegar. if anyone makes their own glass cleaner etc, what kind of vinegar do you use? thanks!

Answers:

You can get white vinegar anywhere. Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda - they all sell it. It works well as a cleaner for drains mixed with bicarb and also good for cleaning sinks etc. The other stuff doesn't do the job the same.
