Question:
I wonder if anyone here can help with some hypnotherapy advice. A 14 year old boy who wets bed every single night - also suffers ADHD. I have done two short sessions - first to get used to me and hypnosis and second with a start on the problem at hand.
During both sessions he went very very deep - to sleep in fact. I could not get any response verbal or ideomotor but he did come out when asked (reluctantly). He doesn't remember anything at all after the session. My conclusion is that he is too deep and it may in fact be a form of avoidance. He seemed to have gone to sleep by the end of the induction not even hearing any deepening.
If any hypnotherapist has any advice, I would very much appreciate it as I really would like this boy to be given the best chance at beating this issue.
Thank you.
Hi Hilary
In these situations, I use the Elman induction. This way, the client is participating throughout induction and you know at what point they go too deep. You can then bring them back up a level to where they can continue participating.
I also use EFT with hypnosis as it is extremely effective during very light trance. EmoTrance is also fabulously effective as it requires the client to tell you what is happening during the process. So remain functionally co-operative.

Thank you for your advice. Unfortunately I am not qualified in EFT so am not able to offer the techniques suggested. I am also unsure of the Elman induction - can you please elaborate?
Hilary
I have sent you a PM. Let me know if it hasn't come through as my PC went down as it was sending.
Best regards
Steve
