Ok - I may be setting the cat amongst the pigeons her, but I'm a bit confused:eek:
So many times I see shamans as describing themselves a being on a lonely path. I just don't understand it.:eek:
Since I've been on the shamonic path, I've linked up with my bear, wolf, kestrel & bilby, I have numerous guides who have taken me through various journeys and have even met up with Sparky, my pegasus/Unicorn, who facilitates going to other lands when doing a soul journey for other people. I have my guides with me all the time (especially Bear) - how can I feel lonely?Perhaps its because as a shaman we need to take a considered look within - this does feel very unconfortable, especially when you uncover things that you would rather not look at, but ultimately it is freeing. Facing the worst in yourself and living with it/ transforming it must be the most liberating experience, at least once you've come to terms with it;)
I can't say I'm there yet, but I'm trying;)
I have started doing journeys for other people in conjunction with another shaman ( I 'see', she is able to 'feel' and is able to ask relevant questions on behalf of other people) I haven't been able to find anything like this in the literature (ie shamans working inconjunction with each other to the same goal), but as shamanism seems to be more active than prescribed, I wonder if anyone else knows if anyone else has worked in this way? I can't believe its not been tried before. Its been remarkably effective for us, so I would love to know.

I have been and I belieb I still am on the shaman path. I have so many animal totem guides and in their own individual ways have tought me soo much. A very magical and beautiful path to be on.
I am not lonely knowing that they are present. However it looks like you are doign other work with Haveing a Unicorn.:)

Black Leopard-been around a while but she has just come back into the now. ( multi dimensional)

Three Dolphins-connected with the ability to channel healing energies come from Atlantis and Sirus _ beautiful energy
Unicorn-Light working
Dragon-Alfie he was a red dragon but dragon guides change in colour as we gain in knowledge and vibration so Alfie is now silver!!:D Also connected to Merlin who I am so privlidged to have as a guide though he works with all light workers.
So as you can see not such a lonely path after all

Thank you Ithar - I love hearing of others guides. They are all so special, but I have to say Alfie sounds especially interesting:D
I haven't met Merlin (yet?!) but have as my main guide Shamala, who usually presents herself as an old medicine woman, though she can look completely different, according to my intention on a journey.
I could whitter on about my guides for days but I'd better get back to the kids - wrapping paper to clear, dinner to prepare, you know the thing....

The lonely path other practicing shamans including myself are speaking of, is of the physical plane.
It is my first and golden rule NEVER to reveal myself as a practicing shaman, as in this modern world it isn't quite yet widely accepted to be one. therefore I find myself extremely alone because I can only have conversations about non spiritual subjects, which we all know doesn't really go very far or deep.
It is only in that sense that we are alone. remember we are but an extreme minority, in my 18 years of practicing I have met only two Shamans, and to make maters worst, they dont even know it!
spiritually however, I have never been alone since walking this path.
may mother nature charge you with her love!
