Question:
Hi people
just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on receiving an antique engagement ring. i dont' have any skills as such with crystals but it does make perfect sense to me that if someone has worn an item of jewellry for 50 odd years then that item will take on all sorts of energies from the owner - good or bad. Do you think I need to cleanse it at all? my boyfriend has to get it resized and i told him that before he gives it back to me he should send out thoughts of love to the ring. is this me being a tad strange or instinctively correct?!?
any thoughts and advice would be much appreciated!
thanks,
Jx
know what u mean .. I was given a few bits of jewellery worn by my gran and have often wondered.. have also a ring bought second hand by my mum.. wondered who owned it before... I suppose u could clense it..
but is that cleansing using thought forms or cleansing running it under water/putting in sunlight? i've only read a few bits n bobs about crystals so not really sure what to do. just hoping whoever owned the ring initially had a fabulously happy marriage!! :D

I personally cleanse my with running water and then leave on top of a amerthyst cluster I have or any citrine which can cleanse well..
u can send cleansing thoughts to it while holding it on your hand and surrounding it with while light.. which ever u feel is right .. there are many ways.. and everyone is different.. but once u have it back that is the time to cleanse it.. there are a few threads with similar ways..:D
hugs
try this one.. happy cleaning..
Hi Joanna
I think you can safely say ... yes, your being instinctively correct...you must go with what feels right to you, you could also wash the ring under cold water and send loving thoughts out to it...
whatever, feels right to you ~ is the correct thing to do...
Bye the way Congratulations

Hi Joanna :)
I think youare very lucky to have an antique ring. Do you know what the stones are that are in it, or did I miss that bit?
When your boyfriend gets it resized, ask the workshop to clean all the settings and make sure they are secure and safe. Some of the older gold s used were very pure and therefore softer than the modern mixes.
Its quite usual for stones to migrate to their new owners and sometimes we are just carriers to pass them on, it sounds like now is the time for you to enjoy the properties of this ring :) How wonderful. Cleanse it under running water , a stream or waterfall are two that I love using, but then I have one near me, careful you dont lose it though, The ring may need some special healing itself before you feel happy wearing it, you could use reiki to infuse it or your own energy. Both are simple enough. Tell us more about the ring and what it looks like and I'm sure we can find the best way to make you all happy :)
cheers guys. interesting. the way i see it...i feel thought forms, for me, are the way forward. I do like the idea of water cleansing as well - but in some ways i think this is a continuation of thought forms - water being traditionally cleansing and so we as we see the water pouring over something so we think it's being cleansed and so it is. interesting that you say not to wash it in salt water. i thought salt water was supposed to be the most cleansing of all - or is that just with humans/animals?
ice - the ring itself is diamond and white gold. does that mean anything (other than my other half being very traditional?!?!) :)
