Getting Started?
Question:

I've been looking online for information about how to get into massage therapy. I'm looking to eventually do it on my own, but maybe start out in a spa or something.
I don't really intend to ever work for a chiropractor or anything. I'm not looking for anything healthcare related.
I'm confused as to what is required to do this. I was 1st told that there were requirements by the state, then I was told that it was by county. I live in Washington County, Maryland. The schools are a couple hours away that I could find... & I don't know if there is a difference in the requirements of healthcare massage therapists & non-healthcare MTs.
How easy is it to start out in this? How much pay is expected? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Wa Mono
Welcome to the forum :-)
You have some wonderful regulations over there which seem to differ from state to state, unfortunately most practitioners on this board are based in the UK so will not be able to advise you on this matter but I am sure if you try the search engines then you will find one that is massage based in your country and they will know the various ins and outs of this :-)
