Question:
After doing a bit of research ive decided i want to try out swedish massages as i think the benefits sounds good. Now using the http://www.igpp.co.uk/ site, i have 5-6 practioners in my town. My question is how do i decide which one i should visit? is there any questions i can ask them? Is it a case of going to each one and then deciding which i like best?
Some obvious things to ask:
price, times they could see you, where is their therpy room (you may prefer not to travel to the other side of town!). Then I would tell them why I want the treatment, and see how/what they answer. Call all of them if you feel like it. Don't be afrai dto say "I will think about it and maybe call you back".

If you want a treatment because you think it will help with a particular condition, you might ask what experience they have with that.
Also, if they do mobile. Some times the benefits quickly evaporate when you come out from the clinic into freezing cold weather and have to fght your way home through busy traffic. Some people prefer the therapist to come to them, so they can just chill out afterwards, go to bed and have a good night's sleep.
Hope that helps
Hi Beagle,
I agree with all the above. And you will probably prefer someone you get on with. Right now, it can be a bit quiet for massage; at other times of the year, whether their diary is full or empty will also tell you how popular they are with their clients.
Let us know how you got on :)
and dont forget to search the HP directory here.....I stopped the IGPP last year as I didnt think it provided any value add to their members and refused to line their pockets! - there rant over.
See how you take to them on the phone, have they time for you, are they actually listening to what you are saying or just putting out a spiel etc...
good luck
Suzanne, good points about the diary, it is a little quieter here but instead of the usual 2 week wait I only have a 1 week wait before i can fit anyone in!!!! so it is a good guide....
