Question:
Hello All,
I would like opinions on something that i must admit upset me at the time.
A few weeks ago while e-mailing my RM who lives in America, i mentioned how on top of everything else, now my dog who's 15 is in pain with her hips.
I have arthritis in most of my joints and disc problems in my neck and my RM is aware of this.
What upset was that she said that my dog was ill because she was 'mirroring' my pain.
I can't honestly say that i don't believe that, as my dog is 15 years old and is also a large dog. It is well known that most large dogs usually have problems with their hips.
Saying that, it has still left me feeling a little responsible for her pain.
Any thoughts?
Hi Aura, Animals do at times mirror our issues - one of my cats (who is very attached to me), specifically does this, and has done so on a number of occasions.
Please don't feel responsible for her pain, animals are highly evolved and I believe are here to actually help us, and they have chosen to do this at a higher level of consciouness than we are consciously aware of. Now, it could either be that your dog is getting older and is now having pain in her hips, and that this issue is specific to her, or she may be exhibiting pain in her hips to draw your attention to your own pain.
How long have you had joint problems for?

For many years, but is this to say that all old dogs who eventually age and become ill like we all do, are actually only ill because their owners are?
I'm certain that even if i was completely healthy, my dog at her age would still of gotten ill at her age.
I have known of so many people through my life who's pets have become ill with age and i can't say that the owners were particually ill. To be honest i'm regretably hardly with her in the day as i'm a carer for my sister and always with her.
I've also got 3 cats, who i must say never bothered with me before i was attuned to Reiki, but now will not leave me alone. They follow me everywhere, even to the toilet! At times i have 2 on my lap, they love Reiki.
