Question:
Was wondering if there is anyone out there who could help me 3 years ago i gave up alcohol due to me liking it 2 much but it not liking me.
When i stopped i went into depression and some days getting out of bed is all i could do. Now although the depression has gone i still feel very unwell most days i drag myself about feeling so tired i also have massive cravings for high sugar foods which i do give in to and have put on 3 stone.
I am desperate to lose this weight as i would like to start a family but i just carnt get any bigger and cause i feel so tired dont think i could cope.
The last year i have tried diet after diet and nothing has worked im not blaming the diets but cause i feel generally unwell i can not muster up the will power needed. After reading ect i realised i might have low blood sugar as i have the symtoms ect and also with my drinking might have messed things up.
I believe if this is the case to not eat sugar, white bread pasta rice ect and more protein, veg and grains ect is that right.
And i was wondering if anyone could recommened any sort of vitamins i might need to help with the craving and tiredness.
Any advice would be helpfull also had a diabetes test and everything was ok so can rule that out.
Hello Sally.
First of all well done for giving up alcohol. You must be very proud of yourself for having the self-discipline to do that. It sounds like you know what you need to do: but you might like to think about going to a qualified nutritionist who would give you a personalised approach to what would be good for you. I went to one and she took amongst other things that I now can't remember a saliva swab, urine sample, blood type: and I came away with a sheaf of info.
The other factor is exercise: great for shifting pounds, getting rid of lethergy, lifting your spirits.
Essential Fatty Acids are a good supplement:most people don't get enough of them. Pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, nuts, are good to have in the house for the munchies - they may be fairly high in calories, but they are full of goodness - better for you than chocolate, biscuits and cakes.
Good luck my dear - if no-one else mentions, and I'm sure they will - look into tapping to help you.(EFT - www.emofree.com)
