EFT for anxiety
Question:

Could somebody tell me if EFT would be useful in treating my anxiety and panic attacks?? I have been to the doctors. She suggested Kalms tablets and counselling but would have to wait 8months! I have been very anxious since friday. Just came on suddenly. Waking in the night with heart pounding, feeling sick. Believe it or not panicking about food! I havent an eating disorder either. Just the thought of eating is making me feel nervous and i dont know why! Would there be a practioner near me? I live in middlesex. Lauren

Hi Lauren
EFT can be very effective for anxiety and panic attacks and I'm sure you will get lots of responses to your post saying so. To read more about EFT have a look at the main website at www.emofree.com where you will also be able to search for a practitioner. However, you do not need to necessarily find one that is near you as EFT is often carried out over the phone (most of my clients now are over the phone and some call from other countries - it still works just as well!).
Good luck and I hope it helps you.

There a yahoo forum dedicated to anxiety and often people refer to EFT. In there are often the kind of things one should tap on. The link is .
Hopefully you can browse the forum without being a memeber. If so look at the thread in the "dec" month, titled "Something To Get Started ..." (as well as the others)

Hi Lauren
EFT works especially well with anxiety problems. I couldn't recommend anything else anywhere near as effective (for most people).

Hi Lauren,
In a moment of synchronicity, I just received a newsletter from Silvia Hartman, an EFT expert and the person who developed Emotrance. In it she mentions two resources for people who are suffering from anxiety.
First is an ebook by Nicola Quinn, called "Living without Panic attacks" - details at http://nicolaquinn.com/modules.php?n...article&sid=49
Second is a free article by Sylvia herself, "Anxiety self-help treatment protocols", which is very good, especially as it offers an excellent explanation of how it gets set up in the first place. This one's at http://sidereus.org/main/article.php?sid=172
One of the main things to do is even simpler than EFT (if that's possible) and takes less than a minute!
Hope these help
All the best
Jonathan

Hello steve,
i have replied to your email. Feeling very anxious today. Felt full of fear this morning, couldnt eat and wanted to be sick. I dont know if i should see a dr and get some medication to relieve the anxiety. My mum was given Cipramil but i worry about taking things like that and there are quite alot of horrible side affects.

what do you feel started your anxiety
when did it first start
what was going on at the time
where were you
what was you doing
what dont you have that if you did have you wouldnt have this problem ( accept your thoughts as the answer )
anxiety is a symptom, what is driving the anxiety?
anxiety cant exist without a driver so what is driving it
how do you do it
what thoughts are you having before it starts
what thoughts are you having between attacks
what do you need to let go of this anxiety now
get paper and write your answers down, go into a quiet space and ask your self theese questions then write down your first impressions.
theese are just starter questions so once you have these answers let us know and we may be able to give you the suggestions you need to move forward.
where do you feel it
what size is it
what colour is it
what sounds are present
is there a picture with it
are there any smells that are important
also look at your posture whan you are doing it ( are your shoulders slouched inwards )
look upwards whan you get it and see what is going on
once we have this information we can take the next step
in light

sorry to hear of your present situation. Have found the following points are good for anxiety.
Press a finger tip to each of these in turn, holding for a long inhalation and exhalation.
Under the eye on the orbit bone, directly under your pupil when looking straight ahead.
Under the arm - take your arm across under your breasts and where the middle finger touches your side, press there.
On your collar bone/clavicle where it joins with the sternum.
Repeat as often as you want, while keeping the anxiety in mind.
This worked last night to help my mother who has been traumatised by my fathers death. Will give you some relief I hope.

Thankyou so much to everybody for there replies. I dont know how it started but all i can say is everytime i go to eat i feel panicky. I keep thinking "whats the point in eating" and then i get anxious because i think i wont be able to eat properly again and i will never like food and end up in hospital. Its really come from nowhere. I have a new boyfriend. Thats the most recent change i have had lately. I think my problem is i analyse everything too much. I had a silmilar experince in 1999 because i couldnt work out what time was and where yesterday went! Sounds funny to people who i tell but at the time it was very very scary. I felt like i was going mad. I have an appointment to see my doctor. I think i have a panic disorder which may need medication and counselling. This last week has been awful for me. Constantly anxious, waking in the night with a beating heart and panicking.
I had some EFT lastnight over the phone which did help and i must say i didnt feel so anxious this morning although it was still there. The panic is in my stomach. Like severe nerves. I feel shaky all the time, tired, look pale and a bit dark under the eyes.
I feel sick in the morning also when i get up. I think thats due to nerves though. I just want it to go. I have never been like this about food. I usually eat alot and i am hardly eating. It has nothing to do with not wanting to put on weight either as i think people think thats what it is. I am eating but not as much as i was and when i do eat i have to force it down.

Hi Lauren,
It sounds like you're doing all the right things to conquer this. Just reading your posts, I think this is not a one-session EFT treatment. And since your telephone session has produced results, it's a good idea to carry on with your EFT practitioner as well as seeing the doctor, so that you can get to the bottom of this.
Good luck on your journey to recovery.

Thankyou. I went to my doctor yesterday and she has prescribed Cipramil. I have two months worth. I am to take 1 to 2 per night. The tablets are 10mg each. I didnt want to go down the old anti depressant rd,etc but i am going away tomorrow and the last week has been awful. Extremely anxious, feeling sick, frightened, tired, the list goes on. My mum has been very good. She has been through this herself and not so long ago and was also told to take an anti depressent which helped. She is now her "old Self". I also have a very good boyfriend who is trying to help. At this time though i feel like i am shut in a box if that makes sense. I wish somebody could look inside my mind and see and feel the thoughts i have. I will get through this though. I have to be positive and the medication will help.
