Question:
I have a 5 year old son who has been diagnosed with Dyspraxia. His concentration is poor and his balance although slightly improving is also not great!
I read somewhere that Cranial Osteopathy can help a great deal and this makes sense to me as I have always felt that his problems were atributable to his birth (very traumatic and ventouse delivery, cord round his neck etc.)
Have I left it too late for CO to have a good effect in helping him? He will be 6 in April. I am desperate to help him as I don't want him to struggle with his reading and writing etc as he is doing now.
Please help! (Sorry for the essay!)

Yes it's certainly worth a try, especially given the traumatic birth and no it wouldn't be too late.
I need to get back to work, right now, but there's a couple of Threads here that I've commented on Dyspraxia. I'm sure there are others.

I have now booked an appointment to see a CA for tomorrow. What can I expect from my sons treatment realistically? Someone told me if there was no improvement after 2 sessions then it would have no effect, is this true?
I just need, I suppose, some idea of a best case scenario or just generally what to expect if there is any improvement.
Will I see any change in my son after his first appointment?

No. In short, realistically, then you're likely to get some improvement, rather than a miraculous cure.
I would allow 4 - 6 treatments and if these help, then an occasional treatment thereafter.
There may well be other factors, that are compromising health i.e. allergies, ptimative reflexes that may need breaking down with soecific exercises.
I think these were things that I mentioned on the other Threads that I gave links to above.

Well just wanted to let you know how it went yesterday with my son and his appointment.
It was amazing really, the CO was a really nice guy and my son and him struck up a rapport immediately. After a very detailed Q&A about everything, the birth, his schooling etc. the CO did a treatment on my son, (who loved it and can't wait to go back for more!) and he said that he doesn't believe my son has Dyspraxia so much as Dyslexia. The CO is Dylexic himself and recognises a lot of the signs in the way my son is, so time to start trying to get him reasessed!
After his treatment, my son who wakes up usually in the middle of the night with headaches slept straight through!
We go back in two weeks, and my son is really looking forward to it!
Just very confused how to get him reasessed!
