Hope your Tuesdays are all going well and are not too stressful after the weekend?
My husband and I were travelling back from North Wales yesterday and he asked me to treat his hand as it was hurting. I was treating my stomach at the time but having two hands automatically lent my right hand to him.
Hmmm - it seemed to work but what do y'all think?

I can't see why it wouldn't work!
Your husband articulated his intent to receive healing, you offered healing and you say it worked. Don't think too much about it :D
Reiki can be as simple and as complex as anyone wants to make it. Just relax, experiement and find your own way :)

I don't see why it would not work... YOu migth have been tought to keep both hand close to each other when treating, but only one hand works too! And one hand here and another one there also works... And the "ultimate proof" is : were both of you feeling better after it?

There is no reason why you can't treat yourself and someone else simultaneously.

I also agree: I have often treated both myself and someone else at the same time. I have also treated a friend and my dog at the same time with one hand each.
Also have treated a friend who has in turn been passing on the Reiki to my dog, and another friend has done the same with her dog as I was treating her!
Just to add another twist, I often treat myself, my dog, and send distant all at the same time!
I also know of someone who treats several people at once by doing a 'train' - she has her hands one one person's shoulders who in turn has their hands on another's etc.......
Reiki is extemely versatile, go with the flow......

And I've just remembered that there is a report that Mikao Usui gave healing to several people simultaneously, when he visited the area after the large earthquake. I think the report says that he used both hands, both feet and his eyes. That's 5 people at once!
The answer is yes you can treat unlimited amounts of people at the same time you just use your intention to create extra energy hands and place and leave them on each person you want to treat at the same time the same as you do on yourself :-)
Action follows thought, which is why intent is so important IMO. Isn't Reiki wonderful?

YES! Reiki is just the most brilliant thing. Thanks for all you helpful advice and thoughts on this subject. I remember on my course in New Zealand that my teacher sometimes used his breath to draw the symbols.
It seems to be all about harnessing more energy which is something I think takes practice and perseverence.
It's all good isn't it? My cat oftens gives me a furious squint if I try and give it to him...even from across the room.

We went to the Faenol Festival near Bangor - Bryn terfyl, Jools Holland and Jamie Cullum performed. It was brilliant. Being half Welsh I felt so at home and it was gret to introduce my Kiwi husband to the wonders of the Welsh landscape and accents! Never heard so many people speak Welsh before though!
Really cold - had to give myself Reiki to warm up my hands....

I've found (and I was taught) that Reiki works best with Intent.
I can give myself Reiki without using my hands and I swear it works!
On my Reiki 2 I was also taught how to 'add' extra hands while you're doing a treatment... so you can place your hands on their knee and imagine you have extra hands and they are then placed on other parts of the body, the woman I treated felt the difference when I added the extra hands and my teacher said that sometimes people even feel the invisible hands!
Reiki is so flexible and sometimes I think it listens to me, I sent to my husband while he was sitting next to me and I didn't even do the distance healing symbol or anything.... I intended Reiki to go there and it did!!!

You might find it more helpful to think of the entities that you are working with rather than thinking of the system (Reiki) that you use to gain access to the energy BEings.
The energy BEings which make up the universal energy are listening and working with us constantly :-)
Distant Reiki works without hands... I often visualise energy flowing to more parts of the body than only those I am working on.
