Hi Everyone
I am taking Reiki 2 in a couple of weeks time, my teacher has told me about this site. I'm glad I've found it, it looks really informative. I've been told that there have been discussions regarding UK Reiki Federation and government guidelines/minimum standards that may eventually come in regarding the practice of Reiki. My teacher says they were called 'Bad News' and UK Reiki Federation Going Over The Top'. Can anyone please tell me whether and how I can get to these discussions. I am tagging the dropdown menu to 365 days of messages but nothing seems to happen. Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing yet, appreciate your help.

The old threads sort of disappeared when the forum moved to this new format. They were all there until just a week or so ago, but the old URL now automatically takes people to these new pages.
You may be able to get the archives back, but you'd need to ask the forum admin (mike@our page.net) or Paul Cooper, the Reiki forum moderator, might know where they went. You can email him at

Just for today do not worry!
There is a move afoot by the UK Reiki Federation (UKRF) to bring together the main Reiki Organisations in the UK to form (actually has been formed but no decisions yet) the Reiki Regulatory Working Group (RRWG) in an attempt to satisfy the government's possible requirements for voluntary self regulation for all disciplines in the Comlementary Health Sector.
This will entail setting National Occupational Standards (NOS) and a Core Curriculum (CC) which will ensure that, whichever type of Reiki is taught, there will be certain minimum standards of the contents of each teaching and of the qualifications of the teacher.
There have been only two meetings, that I am aware of, of the RRWG but only one set of minutes published. These together with the drafts of the NOS & CC can be accessed at the UKRF website at www.reikifed.co.uk. The initial publication of the NOS & CC caused an uproar but nothing has been finalised yet and I foresee much negotiation and re-writing before then.
I hope this eases your worries.
Please enjoy your Reiki 2 without worry - and send Reiki to the situation of the RRWG, NOS and CC so that it will all be settled to everyone's satisfaction.

A bit of a different ? here, I have been told that in 5 years or there abouts, all therapists have to have anatomy and physiology.. which I do not have.. why with doing any energy healing would we need to have this qualification...
