help with a query :)
Question:

Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can help me here :) I have a question which is 'which carrier oils would you recommend for general body massage'
I am unsure wether this relates to a massage in general or treatment for cellulite as this is what the lessons I am currently doing is about..
Here is the oils I have to choose from; almond, grapeseed, wheatgerm, sesame, calendula, jojoba, avacado, st.johns wort, walnut, apricot kernel, eveniing primrose, macademia and camellia
I would prefer to cover my butt here and say what should be used for massage in general and what is best used for full body massage for cellulite also.
I hope someone can help and thanks in advance :) take care

Hi there
I have just passed my Massage Itec course and the oils that we were recommended to use where: almond, grapeseed, wheatgerm, jojoba and evening primrose.
Hopes this helps.

The trick is to read the question.
If you read it again you will not see any mention of cellulite, so if you talk about cellulite then you will lose points as you are not answering the question.
Regarding the oils that you mention. You need to get some info on these oils really and there is information on the web that you can get hold of so that you can learn about their components. Different oils have different qualities and some are more suited to one job than another.
Some of the oils you mention are not suitable for use on certain people ie wheatgerm oil, walnut, st john's wort, macademia - all for the obvious reasons they might be contraindicated. Some of them should only be used diluted with another carrier, such as grapeseed. They are unsuitable for use 'neat'. Some of these oils also have a very strong aroma.
Jojoba isn't strictly an oil, it is a wax and for the same reason you could lose points if you put it down withouth stating that.
Hope that helps. I always used grapeseed but do change from time to time. That and sweet almond are used by aromatherapists as they have very little aroma to spoil the blend.
