I find this similar to Do-In that I learned in Shiatsu. Its great for moving the energy and releasing trapped energy and also before doing sitting meditation.

Created by Chen T'wan, a taoist in the 10th century he called it Patting the8 Phychic Centers. Sometimes called Sung Ku means relaxing the bone and benefits the muscles, bones and nervous system this is a major part of their longevity program (I thoroughly enjoy this). The hands pat along the extra 8 meridians which are pathways for sexual energy which can be deficient or blocked. Using the palms or loose fists the whole channel can be done or sometimes just a portion or even just a psychic center where chi is stored. Bodyworkers will find the appropriate channel for a health problem and treat the pyschic centers to stimulte the inner organs. The contraindications would be to avoid this for pregnant women, recent heart attacks,stroke, hi blood pressure, inflamed joints, metastatic cancer. Higher levels of this is using sticks and/or bags of sand even gravel to acieve Iron Body.
