I wish I'd had someone like you available when I was learning IHM, Sue. :D:D
but then, all of the information WAS in the course literature which you had to read and understand before answering the questions.

Sue has posted lots of benefits there, in addition I can think of:
- it stimulates the release of endorphins (the body's natural painkillers) from the brain which uplifts the mood.
-it enduces a feeling of relaxation and calm
-it encourages the release of stagnant energy and helps promote a balanced energy system
- reduces restrictions, ashesions and spasmsin the the muscle fibres.
- increases the supply of oxygen to the brain
- improves the circulation to the skin and hair
- improves circulationto the scalp
- increases the stimulation to the parasympathetic nervous system
- decreases the stimulation to the sympathetic nervous system
-relaxes and soothes tired eye muscles
-relaxes the muscle and nerve fibres of the head neck and shoulders
- increases the blood and lymphaticflow to head neck and shoulders
-decreases inflammation in the tissues

Wow, I could really use those benifits. If I am comfortable, then my desires are filled. How can I practice this? Can I do it on myself? Do I need oil like sesame or something?

Hi all, just a quick note about the benefits and results of IHM. Over the past couple of years I have treated two people who had Bell's Palsy (facial stroke), one of whom is my pastor at church. I have to say that I'm so glad that I learnt this treatment as it only took 5 sessions to get their faces back to normal. Even by the 3rd session you could tell that the treatment was working to repair the damage. Both have restored confidence, sleep better, eat and drink properly, where before they had to use a straw in the cups for drinking. Their consultants at the hospital were amazed by the results and encouraged them to continue with the treatments but it only took 5 sessions and I'm glad to say that they have never had a relapse and needed any more treatments. I just hope that the consultants recommend this to their other patients. There'd be a lot of happier people out there.
Hugs and blessings.
Elizabeth
