hi everyone,
I'm currently on an ihm course and desperate for case studies! My friend has offered herself but she has epilepsy.
I wondered if anyone knows if it's worth me sending a referral form to the doctor to make sure it's okay? Not sure if it is as I'm not qualified yet?

Welcome to HP - pls do go to new members section and introduce yourself
Your tutor should be able to tell you whether you can treat this person as a student. As a qualified person, I'd ask your friend about her seizures, how often she gets them, how under control it is and then decide whether to get referal.
If carrying out IHM on an epileptic, you have to becareful when hacking away at the head.

Thank you Rakhee for your advice, I know that she's had her epilepsy under control for 12 years so I can't see that it'll be too much of a problem.
She just never gets round to going to the doctor to get the okay so I was hoping to do it myself. Hopefully I'll be practising on her soon!
