[size=5]Hi
I just spoke with her on the phone, she told me it is the legs so I think the feet as well, but it comes and goes. I think can treat her between the problems. She also got Parkinson, and I was hoping to use Thai foot massage on her becouse I find it has wonderful afffect for Paerkinson, but I think that is out of the window
I asked her to speak with the Dr as well, and ask his premtion, but it is very challenging so I hope I can treat her.
So any help or advise will bevery more then greatfull.

I don't really understand your question. Lymphoedema is not a contraindication for reflexology. Reflexology is very good at encouraging lymphatic drainage. When I'm treating anyone I try to remember that reflexolgy is a holistic treatment - a full treatment is done at every session (unless you're priming an overdue labour). I don't treat a disease or a condition - I treat the person. If the treatment happens to relieve symptoms of an ongoing problem such as lymphoedema then that's good. If it were me I'd just treat her paying specific attention to the circulatory and lymphatic reflexes.

Hi. Don't apologise! Sulis says it all really.
I would suggest that you use plenty of massage first if the feet and ankles are swollen. Start by massage at the back of the knee and then work your way downwards, sweeping up and end up at the feet and continue to sweep upwards. Go gently but firm.
Once you have done that then you can continue with the treatment. If it is very bad then you can sometimes get indentations left where you work, but massage to the affected area can clear the swelling quite well.
Hope that helps.

There is no problem with treating oedema with reflexology. I do it all the time as I see lots of pregnant clients. Also my son has cysts in his lymphatic system and when he gets anything like a cold or other infection, the whole of his neck swells up. Reflexology really helps him to get rid of the toxins.
I would suggest working gently over any swollen areas, but if you concentrate on the kidney and bladder reflexes (gently but for quite a while) and do the lymphatic technique if you know it, that can have a great effect. I had one woman come to me whose feet were so swollen that she had to wear Birckenstocks with the buckles as loose as they could go, and even then her feet were bulging out of them. After the treatment she got off the couch, slipped on her shoes and nearly slipped straight out again because they needed tightening considerably, which just proves what a fantastic treatment reflexology is.
And remember that if the woman in pregnant and the oedema is pitting (indenting) when you work on it, she very likely has more problems than just oedema and needs to see her midwife.
