Oils to make a refreshing foot spray?
Question:

Hello all you Aroma Babes!
Wonder if any of you can help me? My feet are really getting me down at the mo. They feel tired and i get burning sensations on a hot day......which is murder if i have loads of running around to do. [:@]
I have used several foot sprays from different shops i.e. boots, body shop, superdrug but none of the have much of an effect on me. I need something more potent. :(
I would like to make my own concoction with essential oils. I have bought a handy spray bottle and now i just need to know what to put in it!:D
I would like to use Peppermint (love the smell!!), and maybe a citrus oil too (i love orange oil!)and any other reviving and refreshingoils you can think of. If anyone has a recepie for a nice foot spray i would love if you would share it with me!:D
Thanks in advance aroma's, and i look forward to your replies!

Hi
Go with your instinct (and preference), peppermint would be very appropriate - cooling to heat, warming to cold. Only slight problem is, very overpowering! could try bergamot which is uplifting and refreshing, or on its own.
Another idea for tired swollen feet - fill a bowl of water and put some smooth pebbles in the bottom. Add essential oils (geranium and lemon are good) and soak - arhhh!!

Dear Kate,
I have had a similar problems during the 'heat wave'. I would love a soap (can't stand shower gells etc.) that is menthol and makes you feel cold after a shower. Do you know of one?
Best wishes

hi kate,
if it was me i think i would use floral water and add my essential oils to this, peppermint mixes well with, lavender, rosemary, chamomile, bergamot, cypress, marjoram, mandarin.
if you wanted to use sweet orange that mixes well with, all citruses and spices and sandalwood, neroli, clary sage, myrrh, geranium, frankincense, palmarosa.
orange is anti inflammatory and antisepic and peppermint is also antisepic
hope this helps other then that i am not too sure as i have no reicpes for feet!

Just be careful if you are using citrus oils (and especially bergamot) if you are going in the sun as these are phototoxic and can cause an adverse reaction.
