Question:
hi all,
does anyone have a second hand set of original lastone set with a rectangular(not round)
hot tank?
i'm just starting out on my own after practising lastone for 3 yrs in a salon, and realised, that stone forest don't do the rectangular hot tanks anymore.
also the price of the full set has gone up considerably since i have trained.
i also looked on ebay, and on hp classified looking for these items, but no luck.
if anyone knows anywhere i could get a second hand original lastone set or tank pls let me know thanks already
Hi,
Try the Lastone and Stone Forest websites (under 'news') There are often people selling their kits there.
Also if you are a member of FHT or other professional organisation (which I guess you must be)their websites often have members areas where equipment is for sale.
Good luck.

For a retangular heater, and a lot cheaper than stone forest round ones, try an electric chafing dish, AKA electric chafer. I use one and it is fantastic. Sunnex is readily available in the UK and should be about 99GBP for a 13.5l (15qt) model which is not much smaller than a Spa Pro 18qt heater. If anything the chafing dish works better than the Spa Pro because the chafing dish is designed to keep food warm at around 55-60deg while the Spa Pro is actually designed to cook food at higher temps, though you can turn it very low for heating stones. If you want it to look less buffet style you can get a flat lid for the chafing dish, looks a little bit more clinical, and easier to stack out of the way if not using it. You can also get 2 half size inserts, rather than the one insert, so you can put oily working stones one side and placement stones in the other side to make it easier if you want to change water between clients, only have to change one side. There is one model of Sunnex chafing dishes with a black plastic water tray that heats the metal tray your stones are in, or one with a stainless steel water tray. You can see the Sunnex chafing dishes at ceonline.co.uk under display equipment, there's probably a lot of other brands you can find. Bain Maries are another alternative, but they are a lot bigger than chafing dishes and cost more, but you're probably more likely to be able to find them second hand. You've got to love all that lovely stainless steel kitchen equipment, cleans up easily and it can look so clinical in any setting :)
The Stone Forest round heater with the drain tap does make clean upSO easy, but I'm not sure it's worth paying that much more for that much easier.
