Recommending this book....
Question:

Hi everyone
I'd like to recommend a book to you, particularly those of you interested in healing on animals, but it also offers a very useful background to crystals, where they come from, how to look after them, chakras etc.
it's
Crystal Healing for Animals (The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights Library) (Paperback)
by
, (sorry can't find the ISBN).I've finished it in two days and it's great. It starts off with all the background info, then it has a directory of loads of crystals with 1-2 pages on each one and what it can be used for with your animals, there are examples of layouts, it teaches you to do crystal massage on animals (I hadn't realised crystal massage doesn't actually involve touching) and there's a table of common animal ailments and the best crystals to use ...noted it recommends amber for cat cystitis there too...you can't all be wrong!) and some great case studys of animals they've treated themselves...plus contact details for organisations (both UK and all over the world) where you can get crystals or crystal/flower remedies etc. It also tells you how to make your own crystal essences too. Really enjoyed reading it. Quite disappointed now I've finished it actually, but I'm off to give my cat anothermassage ;)Tanya x

It's a fantastic book isn't it...I've had it on my book shelf now for many a year, so glad you've enjoyed it :)

The book did raise one moral dilemma for me though; whilst reading it I found myself thinking about all the layouts that would rid my other cat of her shy timid and anxious ways...and then I thought to myself 'but those are her personality traits, she's been that way for 14 years'
Where do you draw the line between helping to improve an animal's quality of life, and deciding on their behalf that they need a total personality transplant?! :D

Answers:

Yes it's a great book and one that you will reference over and over again.

Interesting choice of words there Yarnie "and deciding on their behalf" basically that is something I wouldn't do, I always ask an animals permission to allow me to do some/any work with him or her.
If I'm reading you correctly then you jest regarding the personaility transplant, as you say your cats been like it for 14 years...she isn't going to change now ;)
As for helping to improve an animal's quality of life, well -and this is just my opinion, if she or he is happy and healthy, leave it be....a case of 'if it's not broken ~ why fix it' some things are just meant to be, crystals or no crystals :)
Many blessings

I think you're right Kachina, but I suffer from anxiety and if someone could find a way of curing me without my knowledge or approval, I wish they would, even though it would totally change my personality.
Yes I was joking about the personality transplant, she's lovely and I wouldn't want to change her, I just worry about how it makes her feel to be that anxious.
Quite interested to know, how do you get a response when you ask an animal's permission to heal them? Is ita kind of psychic understanding, or just if they sit and let you do it then you know they approve etc?

Answers:

Any animal suffering from anxiety is not 'normal personality'.
If I had an anxious animal, I would definitely see that as a condition that could be treated.
