Question:
Hello everyone,
I popped into my local health shop yesterday with a brochure about Animal Healing and asked if it would be alright to leave one there, the proprietor was more than happy to put this up for me and even asked if I could leave some more next time I'm in town ~ which of course I am only to pleased to do.
Now they have rooms above the shop and have all manner of therapists that use them, they have even asked me if I would care to do some Crystal and/or Chakra workshops from there...again only to happy to do so....
So, why is it when I asked if I could leave some brouchers about Crystal Healing, he pulled a funny face and told me that the local people are rather 'funny' about that kind of thing and would probably see me as some kind of witch
Seems I need to get a move on with my workshop materials and educate some of them ;) anyone else had this kind of experience?

Hi Kachina,
I came across this when I first started courses. I came to the conclusion its because people don't understand what crystal healing is and think its all lying nude with stones placed all over the body <gg> rather than a 'physical' therapy session like accupuncture ( needles) or reflexology ( massaging feet) or aromatherapy ( using oils) or herbalism and homoeopathy with pills and herbs.
I overcame this by offering some 'sitting' crystal healings in the shop and at shows. Fully clothed of course! lol! People could see what was going on and became less daunted, and I encouraged them to ask questions and touch the stones and pick them up.
There is still a barrier but less of one and many buy their own healing sets now too :)
Good Luck! xx
Thanks for the reply Gem, good idea about 'sitting' crystal healings in the shop, will give that some thought and maybe give it a go :D

I recently moved to a new place and was not prepared for the kind of reaction I get when I discuss crystals. Back where I used to live people would take an interest and there was no real problem. Where I live now, anyone I mention crystals to assumes I am dabbling with witchcraft and no matter what I try to explain they seem to be determined not to understand the difference. I am hoping to work here as a crystal therapist very soon and am a little wary over the reaction I am going to get. I am also prepared to not get any interest ! But hey ho, I want to try it and it might become rather popular.
It is a brilliant idea to do therapy out in the open at first ! I'm going to remember that in case I do get no interest :)
