Question:
hi everyone.
IŽd really appreciate someone who could help me. I am trying to find out if I can get acupuncture from the NHS.I was told that this is not available, but many other people told me I should keep on asking. is it that i just have to go private? it helped me a lot in the past. my back was a lot better and migrains started going away.now i am not having any sesions and those pains are starting again.even my arms are swelling up. medicine is not helping as much because i have some other medical conditions. i ll be thankful to anyone helping on it.:)

Clinical acupuncture is available on the NHS here in Scotland, at least within the Physiotherapy & Rheumatology departments. They are the only two departments I have regular contact with as I get client referrals from local hospitals for remedial exercise. Maybe other forum members have experienced acuP being offered elsewhere within the NHS?

now at least you had cleared my doubts! I live in banknock, just a little town in falkirk, stirlingshire. I asked my doctor to refer me to someonewho could help meand she gave me a letter to go and see a phisiotherapist, wich is not far from here, its in Denny.I may go and see if he can help, and depending how it goes, ask or not for acupuncture there then? because as i said i tryied it before, and it really worked; when nothing else could help me in that time.
So you do Tai chi. i have been reading a book about it. and i was many times told that Yoga could help me.I guess Tai Chi would as well, many times Stress gives me trouble.

At Stirling & Falkirk Infirmaries, I think it is up to the clinicians to decide whether to use acuP, rather than it being a specific GP referral for acuP - maybe you will have some success at this physio referral. Would that be at Dr Lam's (or is it Lim's) Centre at Denny? If not, you might consider checking with them, I can't find the link right now
