Recovery for Broken Ribs
Question:

Mods, please move if appropriate.
I had an work accident two weeks before last Christmas that left me with 1 broken & 3 bruised ribs and also caused a lot of cartilege and deep muscle damage.
A combination of Tramadol and Arnica made the pain tolerable(!) throughout January but almost 7 months on I still have not regained my previous range of mobility & flexibility despite regular exercise.
One physiotherapist has told me it couId take up to a year before the recovery is complete. I still have considerable muscle soreness once or twice a week. Someone suggested sports massage, but as most of the soreness is localised to the right upper Traversus muscles which I can reach myself I'm not sure there would actually be much benefit.
Has anyone else here had , or treated, this type of injury and if so, is 12 months a typical recovery timeframe?
Thanks
derekw

I have not experienced /treated this, but as I have had such good results from bowen treatment, thought i would mention it.
You can do a search and come up with some experienced folk and there may even be articles related to your recovery
