My Reiki Master has been trying desperately to organise a Reiki Share Group for the past twelve months and has finally managed it. The first meeting is tonight and it is exactly 12 months since I first met her to find out what Reiki is about. I feel it's a good omen for me that the first meeting is on the anniversary of the start of my Reiki journey. :)

Even the weather is on my side, if it was snowing I wouldn't be going as she lives up in the hills and if the weather is bad they are snowed in! Luckily it's mild and damp today so no snow!

Hope all went well tonight.
It seems so difficult to get a Reiki share group organised. I am 't'other side of Pennines from you and have made several attempts at getting a Reiki share group together and it always seems to fall apart when it comes to arrange specific times to meet. So it was pleasing to hear of one up and running.
Be interesting to hear how it went and how many of you there were.

There was only three of us there last night but the meeting was fantastic. We didn't actually do any Reiki, it was more a discussion of what we want to do in the future and sort of setting a few ground rules. What was intended to be a two hour meeting turned into three! We are trusting the universe to send more people to join 'Healing Moon', (our group name),but in the meantime we have great plans! :)

I feel sure the group will be a success.
It is so nice to be able to meet talk and receive healing from like-minded people.
It can be very lonely 'out there' for Reiki practitioners.

Hi Mike - We had so much to discuss, it being the first meeting, that the time just ran away - hence no Reiki, but that will change at the next meeting I'm sure. The group meets in Bacup do you know it?

'fraid I have never graced Bacup with my prescence! Although I have walked on the hills nearby. It's probably about 45 minutes away from me. If you need the numbers boosting and, most importantly, your Reiki Master agrees, then I would be happy to trundle across.

Our next meeting is not until the beginning of February, I will mention you are interested and let you know. My Reiki Master is not limiting the group to Reiki people only, she is happy to embrace all like minded people eg people who show a genuine interest in healing be it Reiki or any other form. I see from your profile you are a Reiki Master have you been looking for a Reiki Share group?

I have had three attempts at getting a share group set up in this area. At one point I had five people interested in meeting every two weeks but it just proved impossible to get everyone free on one evening. On one notorious evening three people were turning up and only one came which somewhat defeats the point of a share group!![:@]
While I am a Reiki master it was done over a period of several years and based more towards my own personal development and lifestyle that to fulfill any raging desire to teach. I only teach anyone who comes across me through treatments or other therapies.
As Paul said in an earlier posting it can be lonely out there for Reiki practitioners, so yes I am looking to join a group - but just as a quiet member. I absolutely promise to be no competition for your Master.
On another forum a lady from Halifax was fecently looking for a share group.
Anyway let me know how things progress

Yes I understand your problem, as I said my Reiki Master has been trying for 12 months to set up the grou. People have said they were interested but for some reason or another couldn't make it the same time as everyone else. However, she (and I) believes that those who are meant to be there will find a way so it was time to start the group even though there are only three of us at the moment. I will certainly mention that you are interested, when I contact her next, and let you know.
