Question:

Hi everyone,
I need your advice, please help!
I have been practising Reiki for years now, including Byosen. Recently I moved to South Africa so I can concentrate solely on Reiki. I have set up a practice here and I love it (I am half South African and have lots of family out here), but the problem is that for some reason I am feeling spiritually 'blocked'. Although clients still seem to be experiencing the Reiki as they always do, I feel that I am not 'open' to messages coming in (although I do still pick up areas of pain etc). I suppose I am feeling disconnected from the spirit world. It feels weird and I don't like the feeling!
I am also really struggling to meditate at the moment, and even stranger, I start to feel a bit nervous when I meditate, as if I know I am going to 'see' something and I get scared and have to stop meditating!
Any ideas as to why this might have happened and how I can re-connect?
Thanks very much

Hi LisasclesIt feels like you are under attack, I would suggest you call in your helpers, charge up and go with the flow, you will know how to sort it once you get started :-)

I think you are going through what everyone goes through. It's as if to get to the next 'level' in our personal and spiritual development there comes a time (and I also think that there can be more than one) when we feel completely disconnected and all the things we used to do to make us feel connected don't work. I think that this is the time when it most important to continue with our meditative practise, in Reiki with the meditations, the jumon or the Precepts or whatever we do.
It's at the moments when we feel in our heads that these things aren't as good anymore, that they don't work that we may have been deluding ourselves all along as now when we feel most disconnected they aren't re-connecting us that they become the most important things to do. This stage seems to be an integral part of every spiritual tradition and it's think it's the point that to put it rather crudely sorts the 'men' from the 'boys' If you can hold on to your practise then you can get through it.
I think that the Sufi poet Rumi expresses it very well when he talks about separation from the Beloved (the symbolism for the Divine for Sufis) the longing to be re-united and the utter despair at not feeling that connection. St John of the Cross talks about the long dark night of the soul. I recently listened to a CD by Caroline Myss called Mystical Madness and she really described excellently what it feels like and what you can do to get through it.

Perhaps it may also be an idea to work on yourself.........do lots of self-healing and also receive healing from another healer. Yes-I'd also work with grounding yourself. I also feel that one of the most important things is to try not to worry too much about it, as the more you worry the more agitated you may feel.

Hi LisachlesWhen I connected with you, I sensed that there was a lot of heavy oppressive energy around you, that is not in you, just surrounding your energy matrix.Once you are aware of it you can dispel it, as I said just call in your helpers, charge up with energy and ask for help to disperse it, it is nothing to worry about, just a pain in the backsidesome times :-)
