colors in self treatment
Question:
Hi everyone
I found I had the afternoon of so I thought I would do a self treatment ,used the symbols when I had my hands on the crown did not feel much, but as soon as I put my hands over my eyes wow for the first time I saw a color.

I thought it was blue or lilac blue if that makes any sense, it was like a ball going away from me, then hands on ears it was a definite lavender and coming towards me, I felt I had to put my hands on my temples as I did that the color seemed to fill my whole vison I'm sorry that is the only way I can describe it.
As the treatment progressed it went back to a ball again and coming and going.

Anyone any ideas on what is happening, I thought it would mean that the third eye chakra is opening up but I am not sure

Hi,
When you see bright flourescent colours or earthly colours you are actually seeing the energy you are channelling. The different colours are due to the different frequencies of energy you are channelling. Different parts of your body need different frequencies, thats why the colours change as you move your hands around.
When you see dark dingy colours it is usually the negative energy (that needs healing).

Hi Omegal
Thanks that is worth thinking about, I dont know if it was light to medium lavender or medium to dark purple sounds silly but I could not make up my mind what color it was, I dont feel negative but sometimes you can think negative without realising it
We have not talked befor nice to meet you

Hi,
Just a little more info (if you're interested)....
The colours you see are an indication of the frequency of the energy and give some insight into what is being treated. If you think ofthe rainbow colours, red is the lowest frequency and violet the highest frequency. The frequency of the energy channelled needs to match the frequency of the body part being treated, so the lower the frequency the more dense or solid the body part being treated (e.g. a damaged bone needs lower frequency energy than say liver damage).
Violet can be used for pain as it isa relatively high frequency energy.
Emotional trauma need even higher frequency energy.

Hi JulieEach main chakra has a corresponding colour, starting from the base chakra which is known as the first chakra you get red, then the second chakra is orange, the third chakra is yellow, the forth chakrais green, the fifth chakrais blue more of a lighter shade, the sixth chakra is indigo blue which is very deep, and the last one which is the seventh chakra is violet.Working the sixth and seventh chakras will give youthe sort of thingyou presided, if it caries on happening then see if it happens when you do it on someone else as the ability to see the colour of someone's chakra makes treating them relatively simple.

Interesting perspective. I've read about this many times. But I do know from experience that when channelling Reiki energy, the colours one sees when one's eyes are closed are a perception of the energy being channelled. The colour changes with whatever condition is being treated. I think for your theory to make sense, the practitioner would only ever see colour over the chakra points - anywhere else they would see nothing? As a long time Reiki practitioner I have to say I see colours wherever I place my hands, and the colours are more specific to the area and condition I am treating rather than any chakra colour. Also, Usui Reiki is NOT chakra based, but based on the 'three diamonds'.
Hope this makes sense Paul.

A lovely simple explation, Paul :)
Julie, I lookedup a couple of previous threads on colours foryou to have a look at if you'reinterested. A lot of accounts in those about colours seen when treating other people as well.
Personally, I wouldn't worry to much about the exact shade of the colour you saw (and no, it didn't sound at all silly, and I'm sure you're not being negative). I often see amethyst when both giving and receiving Reiki, and understand that the colours in the purple/violet/amethyst spectrum are the most spiritual, and I'm quite happy about that! :)

Hi Omega1You might also be interested to know that each of the levels of the aura have corresponding colours though obviously muted as they are not as dense, energy healing is energy healing regardless of the system you use to apply it, over time most Reiki practitioners will start to perceive the energy matrix the same as any other system.Unfortunately an energy system has to come through the understanding of the creator, now I am sure that if Usui would have understoodthe concepts of theenergy matrix in relation to healing he would have includedboth the auras and the chakrasin at least one of his energy systems. I'm not sure if Usui-sensei would actually. He did say that he wanted Usui Reiki to be 'kept simple and not lofty'. Basically with Usui Reiki you channel the relevent frequency energy to treat the presenting condition(s), you self-heal and you follow Usui-sensei's principles of 'right thinking and right living'.
Thats it. No need to complicate things with man-made concepts and intellectual waffle that is both meaningless and unnecessary and serves only to impress and confuse novices.

Paul
From reading your posts, you seem to believe that you know so much more about healing than did Usui-Sensei. Why not just make up your own energy healing system "paul crick stylee". This way you could legitimately claim to know more about the system than anybody else and wouldn't have to keep claiming that you know more than the creator of the system.
I hope you will see where I am coming from on this.

Hi Holistic, I totally understand your view and as one of those who does put their view across, sometimes in opposition with what is said by others, I feel I must make my position known on this matter.
When someone specifically asks a question related to reiki, they should receive an answer based on the system of reiki (as far as we can state the teachings of reiki). They must not receive an answer that is based upon totally different teachings and systems altogether.
I don't feel there is any conflict in the posts themselves, although people may perceive this to be the case. In my opinion, people who have put effort into researching reiki are a little deflated when others claiming to represent Usui reiki say things that have no foundation in the teachings of Usui.
Personally, I believe the colours are a perception of energy, both the energy being channelled and the energy of the condition. As someone stated, the system of reiki is not based on chakras but hara.
I do not mean to pick on any one, but if you had no knowledge of car repair, you wouldn't advise a mechanic how to do their job would you?
For information only: The three hara are located in the head (around the typical third eye position, and relates to being at one with the energy of everything), the middle of the chest (relating to our personal experiences) and below the naval (our personal store of life energy).

Well it seems to me I have opened up a can of worms with my thread for my part I posted the same question on 2 others hoping to learn, as I am new to Reiki I would like to learn all I can and I find it very confusing when others talk about other teachings.
Thank you for the replies I understood

I have to agree completely with this!
It is incredibly frustrating as a Reiki teacher that takes their responsibilty very seriously and has researched Usui Reiki extensively, when a question is asked and answers given in an authoritive manner that are none the less incorrect and misleading. It only causes confusion and leads to poor knowledge and practice. I know any forum is a place for sharing ideas and knowledge, but it would perhaps be a good idea if people differentiated between their own personal opinions and factual knowledge.
And ifI can add to mrharper2u's well presented and accurateinformation the following:
The powercentre (just below the navel) represents the physical body, the heart centre represents the emotional body and the head centre represents the spiritual body. Usui Reiki connects and unites all three through self-healing using the 'Earth', 'Heaven' and 'Universal (Spiritual)' energies to ultimately create 'Oneness' and hence enlightenment. That is pretty much the meaning and purpose of Usui Reiki.
